Schools
The TxSSC serves as the clearinghouse for key school safety initiatives for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout Texas. The TxSSC offers a variety of toolkits to assist schools with their safety programs such as emergency operations planning and conducting drills/exercises. In particular, the TxSSC offers the High-Quality Emergency Operations Planning Tool, which is a customizable resource mapping tool for schools that guides school personnel through the process of identifying the areas of their EOP that need to be strengthened or improved. Additionally, the TxSSC offers the K-12 Standard Response Protocol Toolkit (Texas Edition), which offers guidance and resources for responding to all types of critical incidents. The TxSSC also offers a variety of training opportunities for schools to learn about the latest best practices in school safety.

Campus Crime Stoppers
Campus Crime Stoppers' programs can help prevent dangerous and potentially life-threatening situations from occurring among our student populations both on and off campus. Reports of bullying, cyberbullying, truancy, sexual misconduct, suicide hindrance, animal cruelty, illegal drugs, weapons, human trafficking, theft, child abuse, dating violence, and more can all be submitted through the anonymous tip reporting system. Providing students an opportunity to help their school, community, and peers by discreetly reporting suspicious behavior or criminal activity allows students to proactively become part of the school safety solution and ensure youth who are at-risk receive services they need.
Since Campus Crime Stoppers’ inception there have been over 41,000 anonymous tips received that have cleared 57,000 cases in Texas. Campus Crime Stoppers' programs have successfully recovered over $5 million in stolen property, seized over $2 million worth of illegal drugs and retrieved nearly 6,000 weapons from school campuses across Texas without incident before acts of violence can occur.
For more information on how to partner with a Campus Crime Stoppers' organization on your school campus please contact the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division (CJD) at [email protected] or 512-463-1919 or visit https://gov.texas.gov/organization/crime-stoppers.
