Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued the following statement today in observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month:
“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment free from fear, abuse and neglect. When we make meaningful connections with children, youth and families in our communities, we can help parents build the knowledge and resources necessary to raise happy children in healthy families. I urge all Texans to join me in protecting and nurturing our children and calling the Department of Family and Protective Services toll-free at (800) 252-5400 if they believe child abuse or neglect is happening. Together, we can help break the cycle of abuse and maltreatment and make sure Texas children have the foundation they need to lead happy, healthy lives.”
