The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) recognizes the service and sacrifice of our military veterans and their families, particularly those who choose to continue to serve with OAG. The OAG’s Veterans Liaison/Military Coordinator was established to provide support to the Veterans & Military community, to include military spouses.

Grace is a retired Legalman Chief Petty Officer (E-7), having served 20 years active duty in the U.S. Navy within the JAGC community. She served on active duty from February 1985 – May 2005. After retiring from the Navy in 2005, Grace used her Post 9/11 Education Benefits to pursue her degree in Human Services (Counseling and Addiction) to work with Wounded Warriors and Veterans. Grace has a Certificate in Management, (Management Specialties Leadership).

Employment Opportunities
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) adheres to the Texas Veterans Preference Act. Any complaints about failure to comply with the act should be reported to the Director of the Human Resources Division at (512) 463-2009.
OAG partners with military transition offices and other organizations dedicated to assisting transitioning service members and military spouses with employment opportunities in the civilian sector.
Additionally, Texas Government Code Chapter 657 allows state agencies to direct hire individuals entitled to military employment preference. The DFPS human resources office created a plan to implement direct hiring in order to capitalize on the skills and talents of individuals eligible for military preference by filling multiple vacancies.
The OAG also offers DoD Internships – Skillbridge, Hiring Our Heroes & Operation Warfighter (OWF).
