The AOP process may not fit every life event, but here are some tools to use when faced with before birth, absent party, and incarcerated parent situations.
Before Birth AOP Procedures
Some parents may choose to complete an AOP prior to the birth of their child, if this is the case. Use the Before the Birth AOP Procedures guide to help you complete their AOP.
Absent and Incarcerated Parent Procedures
Both parents are not always able to be present when an AOP is being completed. However, certified entities can complete a partial AOP and then provide the appropriate contact information or forms to the parent. This will enable the parent to complete the AOP process.
- If the other party lives in Texas, please call (866) 255-2006.
- If the other party lives outside of Texas, please provide the Absent Party Instructions and Form to the parent completing the partial AOP.
- If the other party is incarcerated, please provide the Incarcerated Parent Form to the parent completing the partial AOP.
For additional help completing a partial AOP, please use the Partial AOP Instruction guide.
