Informational Webinars
The OAG hosted two informational webinars on February 21, 2025 which highlighted key updates from previous grant cycles, reviewed the FY 2026-2027 Application Kit, reviewed do’s and don’ts for completing an application, and concluded with a Q&A session. Applicants are encouraged to view the recording for the grant(s) you intend to apply for before submitting an application.

Eligible Applicants
The following entities are eligible to apply under the OVAG Program:
- Local units of government;
- Non-profit agencies with 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3) status who are in good standing with the Comptroller of Public Accounts and “in existence” with the Secretary of State; or
- State agencies, including universities.
The following entities are eligible to apply under the VCLG Program:
- A local criminal prosecutor, defined as a district attorney, a criminal district attorney, a county attorney with felony responsibility, or a county attorney who prosecutes criminal cases, may apply for a grant to fully or partially fund a Victim Assistance Coordinator (VAC) position, as defined in Article 56A.201 and 56A.202 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
- A local law enforcement agency, defined as the police department of a municipality or the sheriff’s department of any county, may apply for a grant to fully or partially fund a Crime Victim Liaison (CVL) position, as defined in Article 56A.203 and 56A.204 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
- Any other type of position will not be funded under this grant.

How to Apply
Applicants are required to register for an on-line account and review the Application Kit for details on Purpose Areas, Eligibility, and other helpful information.
Applicant Registration
In order to register, an Applicant must designate one person as their point of contact to submit their grant application. To create an on-line account the entity must email the point of contact information to [email protected] with the following information:
- Organization Legal Name as registered with the Secretary of State Office
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address (It is highly recommended to use a generic organization email address if available)

The OAG strongly encourages Applicants to register by Friday, February 28, 2025, to have sufficient time to complete the application via GOALS by 5:00PM on March 14, 2025.
