AG Paxton: Fellowship Applications Accepted Through Oct. 1
Attorney General Ken Paxton announced today the Office of Attorney General is accepting applications for three paid law fellowships, including two newly named in honor of Gregory S. Coleman, the first solicitor general of Texas. The application period is August 1 through Oct. 1, 2017, for one-year fellowships that begin in the fall of 2018. Applications are open exclusively to military veterans for the first 48 hours of the job postings.

There is something unconstitutional in this area: federal agencies wresting power to write laws away from Congress. The CRA restores the Constitution’s separation of powers. If the CRA is unconstitutional, then the constitution is unconstitutional.”

AG Paxton: Texas Will Appeal Prison Heat Ruling
“The judge’s ruling downplays the substantial precautions TDCJ already has in place to protect inmates from the summer heat,” Attorney General Paxton said. “Texas taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for tens of millions of dollars to pay for expensive prison air conditioning systems, which are unnecessary and not constitutionally mandated. We’ll appeal the decision and are confident that TDCJ is already doing what is constitutionally required to adequately safeguard offenders from heat-related illnesses.”

OAG’s Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Williamson County Man for Possession of Child Pornography
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced today that the Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) of his office arrested 70-year-old Stephen Gordon Holcomb, of Taylor, on three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a third-degree felony. Holcomb could face up to 10 years in prison per charge if convicted.
